About Us The Columbia Jaycees have created such community corner stones as the Carolina Carillon Parade, The Stone of Hope Monument, and the St. Patrick's Day Festival. In 1999 alone, $90,000 was raised for a dozen children's charities due primarily to beverage sales run by the Columbia Jaycees at the 5-points St. Patrick's Festival. As of 2003, the Columbia Jaycees are working on a new community event to help raise funds for the numerous children's charities we support. The Columbia Jaycees is not just about the big project. During an average year the Columbia Jaycees offer around 40 projects. From a social outing at a Bombers game, to a resume writing seminar, to a picnic for nursing home residents, there are projects that meet the needs of everyone, without overwhelming anyone. In an environment that fosters true friendship, we offer the best opportunities for business development, career advancement, and community service to men and women 21-40 years of age. Generations of Leadership The Columbia Jaycees have been building leaders out of young people since 1935. Familiar names, such as Lourie, Finlay, Pettit, and Pulliam, have learned their leadership and business skills through the many community projects conducted by the Columbia Jaycees.
